There is this really cute channel purse in this resale shop by my house and i want to buy it but i don’t know how to tell if it is a fake or not. It looks exactly like this one, except it doesn’t have leather handles it has chain handles.
Does anyone know of any little details that a fake purse wouldn’t have or any other way to tell if it’s real or not?
(By the way it is priced at $130 and i don’t know if the store owner knows if it’s fake or not)

if its real .. theres no way it only costs $130!
if you didnt buy it at a chanel boutique or Neiman Marcus/ Saks. then there is no guarentee that it is real.

think about it hun, if you bought a $1150 bag, would you honestly sell it for a mere $130?
call around town and see if anyone else carries chanel then go check them out for comparison. or, call the store and ask for the style number off the tag and look it up on line.
if it is 130. it is probally real. the seller would deffinately know if its real or not because it is all about where they get the purses from. i truthfully do not no how to tell if it is fake or not but this might be the same as coach purses. coach purses are fake when the label that says coach on it are printed on not indented. real coach purses have a number on the inside and that number is also intented. no fake has indented numbers. good luck and i hope you dont get ripped off.
There should be a number somewhere in the bag.Each bag is numbered.It should also be perfectly sewn.Every seam should be perfect and the gold should not be worn at all.

if there is a slight difference, then it is enough to consider it a replica. dont get me wrong, there are plenty great replicas out there.. some are even made with the exact same fabric (from factory workers). it’s almost impossible to tell nowadays, but here are some great guides to telling if a chanel is real or fake:
btw..small things like even the font used in the logo might be slightly different..and keep in mind serial numbers/cards can easily be faked/duplicated. and also, most, if not all, designer handbags will have perfect sewing/stitches and patterns, if anything is out of place or a little not centered, it’s most likely a fake.
it prolly is fake since its only 130 but chanel is the easiest bag to make a fake of and make it look real so chances are if you cant tell not many others will either. but the thing that stands out to me on real ones is all the metal clasps buttons and zipper thing should say chanel on it. and a real can be leather handels. real ones what numbers on the insides and nothing should be falling apart or unsewn.
why would you want to buy an expensive purse anyway?
you wont have any money to put in the wallet inside of the purse…
i dont get this whole fashion thing obviously, since a purse is a purse, and just because it’s less expensive doesn’t mean it sucks at holding things in it.
if you want a purse, get one, just dont mortgage your house for it.
$230 is still to low for a high end handbag. sorry babe. its fake. the only way you will have a chance at buying a real one is at $1,000+
look at the quality of the handbag, it should be stiched perfectly and evenly. (its all done by hand not machine) hardware should be shiny and not brassy. no CHANEL handbag has embossed serial numbers (like coach)
Be careful, lots of counterfeits are mushrooming nowadays, u can’t really tell which one is real from the fakes…and for $230? i dont think u’re getting the authentic one, it would cost you more than that.
Pay close attention to the artcraft..is the stitching in perfect place? is pattern clean and clear? look at the inside, is there a serial no.? are the handles and chain shiny?

All bags should have serial numbers on a tab or sticker inside the purse. The number should correspond with the authenticity card. Newer looking 2.55 purses will not be missing these serial number tabs. Fraudulent buys have been trying to sell bags off lately saying they come from the mother manufacturing company, and serial tags are not attached till much later. Do not believe them! Run the other way!
Vintage purses should never have a metal “Chanel” brand tag plate on the inside of a purse.
Purses will not have any black paper hand tags. All hang tags are price tags in white from the Chanel boutique or department store.
Purse hardware will match the metallic Chanel(R) imprint on the inside leather strip sew to the interior.
Quilting should be symmetrical with the front and back of the purse. Be weary if there is a whole diamond on the left edge of a purse, but a 1/3rd of a diamond on the other side. If the quilting looks to diamond shaped, with the corners of the quilts not at a right angle, be weary. Quilting on the separate side pieces of purses are not always lined up with the quilting on the front.
In an authentic CC logo, the top portion of the right C overlaps the top portion of the left C and the bottom portion of the left C overlaps the bottom portion of the right.
Chanel does not wholesale to anyone. If a internet dealer is trying to tell you they do, they are lying.

Id say, when ever in doubt, don’t buy it
